What is Trauma informed Somatic Counselling?
Trauma-informed somatic counselling is a gentle, body-based approach to healing that recognises trauma isn’t just something we think about, it’s something the body holds onto. Instead of only talking through experiences, this work focuses on helping you tune into your physical sensations, your nervous system, and the subtle signals your body is constantly giving you. It’s trauma-informed, which means it moves at your pace, prioritises safety, and never forces you to relive anything you’re not ready for. Through this approach, you begin to understand your patterns, regulate your responses, and slowly release what’s been stored in the body, allowing you to feel more grounded, present, and in control.
Trauma isn’t just a psychological experience, it’s physiological. When we go through something overwhelming, especially if we don’t have the support or capacity to process it at the time, the nervous system holds onto that experience. The body essentially stays prepared for the threat, even when it’s no longer there.
This is linked to how the brain and body respond to stress. The amygdala, which detects danger, becomes more sensitive, while the prefrontal cortex (responsible for logic and reasoning) can become less active in moments of perceived threat. At the same time, the autonomic nervous system shifts into protective states like fight, flight, freeze or shutdown. If these responses aren’t completed or resolved, the energy of that experience can stay stored in the body.
You might notice this as tension, shallow breathing, gut issues, fatigue, or emotional reactivity that feels bigger than the situation in front of you. This is why people often say, “I know I’m safe, but my body doesn’t feel it.” The body is responding based on past experiences, not just present reality.
Research in areas like polyvagal theory and somatic psychology shows that by working with the body, through breath, movement, and awareness we can help the nervous system come out of those protective states. Over time, this allows the body to feel safe again, rather than just thinking it.

The Embodied Awareness Programme
A Six-Week Nervous System Reset for women who are done living in survival mode
My Embodied Awareness programme is currently running at a discounted rate as I continue with my studies, working toward my qualification.
This 6-week programme is a deeply personal 1:1 journey, lovingly created from scratch with you in mind. I’ve used my own personal experience to guide the creation of this programme and have incorporated everything I know I needed on my own healing journey.
I’ve designed this programme with the intention of deeply supporting you in understanding your inner world, with practices that bring you back into your body and out of your mind, so you can create lasting change through compassionate self-awareness and nervous system regulation.
You can’t create lasting change through sheer willpower, and this programme is designed to help you understand what your core beliefs are, why and how they were formed, and how to begin integrating new practices into your daily life.
Survival mode no more. I will help begin your journey of unravelling years of patterned behaviours so that you can truly live the life you deserve.
This programme is for the woman who feels exhausted by the way she feels, the woman who knows she needs stronger boundaries and to say no more, but doesn’t know how.
It’s for the overworker, the perfectionist, and the ones who don’t know how to sit still and truly rest.
It’s for those who don’t understand why they keep repeating the same cycles of behaviour, even when they know they want to change, the ones who find themselves back in the same situations time and time again.
And it’s for those who feel like they can’t stop snapping, and wish they knew how to feel more calm, in control, and like themselves again.
What’s included
6 x 90-minute 1:1 sessions via zoom

A safe, confidential, and compassionate space to explore your story
A breakdown of what your Embodied Awareness 6 week programme will look like
Week 1 – Understanding Your Nervous System
We will start by exploring how your nervous system works and why you feel the way you do. You’ll gain clarity on the patterns of stress, tension, or shutdown that show up in your body and mind. Through gentle somatic practices, you’ll begin noticing how your body responds to life’s challenges, giving you the foundation to make lasting change.
Week 2 – Exploring Your Early Years
We dive into your childhood experiences (don’t let this scare you off. We are not looking for trauma, we just need to understand your unique story) and the ways you learned to survive and protect yourself. You’ll explore the strategies your nervous system developed to keep you safe and notice how those patterns might still show up today. This week is about understanding your story with compassion and gaining insight into who you’ve become.
Week 3 - Mapping Your Patterns
Now that you understand your nervous system, we look at how it shows up in your daily life. Together, we’ll identify your unique stress responses, triggers, and coping strategies. This awareness helps you see your habitual patterns with curiosity, rather than judgment, and sets the stage for transformation. This part is really powerful.
Week 4 – Stripping Back the Layers
This is a deep, reflective week. You’ll uncover the layers of old beliefs, narratives, and patterns that no longer serve you. This is so freeing. Through guided exercises, journaling, and somatic practices, you’ll start seeing the difference between who you were, who you are now, and who you want to become.
Week 5 – Rewriting Your Story & Repatterning Your Nervous System
Here, we begin transforming limiting beliefs into empowering ones. You’ll practice new ways of responding to triggers and learn techniques to calm, regulate, and retrain your nervous system. By integrating body-based practices with mindset work, you’ll create habits that support confidence, resilience, and self-compassion.
Week 6 – Integration & Your Personal Toolkit
In our final week together, we bring everything together. You’ll walk away with a personal toolkit of exercises, practices, and insights you can use every day. We’ll reflect on your journey, celebrate your growth, and plan a sustainable path forward so the changes you’ve made continue long after the programme ends.
I’m so passionate about this work. This work has been so life changing for me, and I honestly wish I had understood the roots of my discomfort much sooner. So much of what we struggle with comes from patterns we carry without even realising it, and this journey is a gentle, powerful way to start letting them go.

The Regulated Mum club
A 4 week group programme for mums and mums to be who want a safe and gentle space to break old patterns, raise calmer children and feel like the grounded, present parent they have always imagined they’d be.
The truth is, you don’t need more baby tips, you need more capacity and a deeper understanding of yourself and who you are and that’s exactly what this programme will give you.
YOU DON’T BECOME A CALM, GENTLE PARENT BECAUSE YOU READ THE RIGHT BOOKS OR MEMORISED THE RIGHT SCRIPTS.
You become a calm, gentle parent when your nervous system finally feels safe enough to show up the way your heart has always wanted to.
Motherhood doesn’t magically give you more patience. It exposes the parts of you that never had any space, safety or support AND that is why the work matters SO much.
Not because you are broken but because you deserve to experience motherhood from a place of capacity, not survival.
Your child doesn’t need a perfect mother, they need a mother whose body isn’t constantly bracing for impact, a mother who can take a breath before reacting. A mother who understands her own triggers so that she doesn’t pass them forward.
THIS IS THE WORK THAT TRANSFORMS MOTHERHOOD FROM FEELING LIKE A CONSTANT BATTLE…INTO FEELING LIKE THE NURTURING, CONNECTED, CALM EXPERIENCE YOU DREAMED IT WOULD BE.
This work is just as important as the NCT or Hypnobirthing class you most likely signed up to, why? Because it equips you for life after the delivery room.
These groups are intimate and will not exceed more than 8 people on each intake. You will feel safe, supported and understood.
My next group will be starting on 11th May 2026 7pm-8.30pm on zoom

How I got here. My Story. My Purpose.
For a long time, I was living in a way that just didn’t make me happy. On the surface, things looked great-I owned my own home, had a good job, a great social life, and a solid family. But inside, I was struggling. My anxiety at times could be crippling, and I had no idea how to regulate my emotions or meet my own needs. I was living unconsciously, numbing what I felt with things that never really helped, repeating the same patterns no matter how much I wanted to change. It often felt like I was walking through life blindfolded, completely disconnected from who I truly was.
Not long before I met my husband, something in me started to shift. I began to question the way I was living and slowly started reconnecting to myself without really understanding that that is what I was doing-I started to find my way back to the version of me I’d lost along the way and I started to look at the survival habits I had subconsciously adopted. It wasn’t an overnight change, but it was the beginning of me finding my way back home to myself.
Then came motherhood-my rebirth. It cracked me wide open in every possible way. It showed me my wounds and my strength, my conditioning and my capacity for love. It was the turning point that pulled me deeper into healing, unlearning, questioning the norms, self-discovery, and ultimately, back to my own intuition.
The truth is, we’ve always known. Deep down, we all carry an inner wisdom, a sense of what’s right for us, what feels aligned, and what doesn’t. But over time, we become disconnected from it. We’re deeply conditioned by society to live from the outside in, to meet the expectations others, to perform, to fit in, to please. In doing so, we forget how to trust ourselves.
I’ve always been a bit of a psychology geek. For as long as I can remember, I’ve said that if I’d had my time again, I would have gone to university after school to study it, but life had other plans. It wasn’t until I started to truly reconnect with myself and my purpose that I realised how naturally this work comes to me. After a reading with a psychic, who asked if I’d always been drawn to psychology and if I always found that people naturally open up to me, she told me it’s because I’ve been here many times before, that in a past life I was a respected psychologist whose time was cut short. I decided to take this huge nudge from the universe. It felt like confirmation that I was exactly where I was meant to be all along: helping others through their struggles and studying to become a counsellor.
After years of working through my own stuff in talking therapies, I later became fascinated by the deeper connection between the body and the mind-and how the two can’t be separated. I’ve always found it almost barbaric that Western approaches so often treat people from the top down, focusing on thoughts and behaviour while ignoring the somatically stored trauma that lives in our bodies. That realisation led me to train as a trauma-informed counsellor — because true healing, I believe, can only happen when we address the body, the nervous system, and the stories we’ve carried within us for too long.
You don’t have to stay stuck here. I didn’t.
